The Hawksmoor is a lovely spacious Lakeland guest house with 9 en-suite bedrooms. It is ideally situated between, and within walking distance, of the villages of Windermere and Bowness-on-Windermere, where you can find many shops, restaurants and of course the lake itself. The house itself enjoys a relaxing private garden to the front, woodland to the rear and spacious off-road parking. Guests of The Hawksmoor are also entitled to complimentary use of the leisure facilities at Parklands Country Club in Bowness, so don't forget to bring your swimming costume and a towel! Facilities offered free of charge include the use of the gym, swimming pool, jacuzzi, squash court, steam bath and sauna, as well as an upstairs bar with full size snooker tables and sports TV. Buckle Yeat Guest House is situated in the village of Near Sawrey, which is an ideal location for touring the English Lake District and discovering the real Lakeland. Hill Top Farm, former home of the writer and artist, Beatrix Potter is situated almost next door to our guest house. 'Buckle Yeat' is famous for its connections with Beatrix Potter, the cottage being illustrated in the 'Tale of Tom Kitten' and 'The Pie and the Patty Pan' A traditional 17th Century Lakeland cottage with en-suite guest rooms, which are tastefully decorated and furnished with your comfort in mind each also have the additional comforts of tea and coffee making facilities, televisions and we also have free Wifi access for guests with their own laptops and a laptop available for guests to check their email and access the internet. Our family run guest house is open throughout the year and a warm and friendly welcome awaits our guests wanting an enjoyable and relaxing short break or holiday. Holmlea is a Victorian Lakeland Stone Guest House offering comfortable bed and breakfast accommodation. We take pride in looking after our guests and we can assure you of a friendly welcome in a relaxed and informal atmosphere. Holmlea is in a quiet location of Bowness with only a few minutes stroll to the centre with its specialist shopping for fashion, food, arts and crafts. Bowness boasts great cafes, restaurants and pubs and is situated on Lake Windermere with the famous Windermere Lake Cruises. A stay at Holmlea is the perfect place for a relaxing holiday and is the ideal base for visiting the many attractions within the Lake District National Park. Take a stroll around the marina or lake shore walk. There are tennis courts, crazy golf and an 18 hole pitch and putt area or just simply picnic on Glebe park and admire the breathtaking scenery across the lake. Holmlea is strictly non smoking and has its own private car parking. We are ideally located for walkers starting or finishing the Dalesway. Children from the age of eight are welcome. We are not able to accommodate pets. At Holmlea we do not cater for single sex groups, stag or hen parties.
A choice of five double en-suite bedrooms is available, two having four poster beds and two with views towards Lake Windermere and the fells in the distance. All the guest rooms are centrally heated, have hospitality trays, colour television, a hair dryer, shaving points, ironing facilities and en-suite shower rooms with W. C. Our guest house is within easy walking distance of all the amenities Bowness has to offer; from restaurants to cinema, shops to pubs and not forgetting Lake Windermere itself (a 5 minute or so stroll). Free parking for up to five cars is also available.
